alcohol rehab is just like making any other decision in life- ”Here’s my problem. What’s the best way to change this?” You wouldn’t (or most wouldn’t) take a car into a shop and invest the money into temporarily fixing the problem. The same thought process must apply to recovery as well.
Choosing the best form of treatment may not look or feel like as you may have hoped or imagined. Believe it or not, there are sober livings that offer more structure, support and proper care than some drug rehabilitation programs. It’s important to ask yourself, “Am I looking for what is appealing or convenient to me, or am I looking for something which ultimately offers the best chance for my success? “
Determining which program may offer you the best chance of success isn’t difficult. A couple things to inquire about would be success rates, amount of individuals that have obtained long-term sobriety, the turn over rate among residents and how many people have returned for second or third go-arounds at treatment. ASK THESE QUESTIONS!!!
